Pc Lap Counter can control starting lights and also the power on each lane by using  parallel port

Hardware needed:
To control power and starting lights you need to connect relay to parallel port

For parallel port i suggest to use “Printer port to 8 relay outputs” of dontronics: this kit contains 8 relays driving by the parallel port..

Warning: Pc Lap Counter only support parallel port on windows XP, Pc Lap Counter only support onboard parallel port,it not support PCI parallel port, USB converter, etc...

Tips: If you already use the parallel port for car detection  you can also use this kit but because Pc Lap Counter manage only one parallel port  you have to make a special cable with one male and two female who separate input pin (1,10,11,12,13,14,15,16,17 and ground pin 18 to 25) and output pin (9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2) like here:
